I was walking around the mobile home park and saw something moving under an old oak tree. I slowly and carefully approached the moving object to find two "homeless" baby hawks, that appear to have fallen out of the oak tree. Mama wasn't around, and after looking around for any other orphans, I swiftly gathered the two and dialed the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. They said they'd be down to pick them up, so in the interim, I have attempted to give the little birdies water out of an eye dropper. Up here, raccoons, coyotes and other wildlife roam freely and would have easily preyed on these little fellas.
