The off grid homestead was busy today with soap making, gardening, building projects and much more.

It was dark and rainy the first half of the day so I made a huge batch of old fashioned and all natural soap. I simply use oil, water and lye to make my simple soap. It is pure and natural.

I did use the grid power for this though since the wood stove was not hot and I wanted to get this done. I plan to sell the soap in our store and online.

Melanie was busy working in the flower beds and making things out of pallet wood. She made a nice fence by the house for the flower bed and plans to make another on the other side. She also made a cute coffee table out of pallet wood. We will paint it later once its finished.

I managed to finish hauling and stacking all the fire wood that was out in the middle of the yard. All the cut and split wood anyway. I also got all the smaller pieces neatly stacked up by the fire wood pile. These I can use for kindling or for the small antique wood cook stove this summer.

It was a great and very full day on the off grid homestead.
