Description:
I have been field testing the ThruNite TH30 headlamp/flashlight for a while now. These are my final results of the test.

This is a convertable LED headlamp and flashlight. As a headlamp it has a head strap and rubber mount. As a flashlight it conveniently fits in the palm of your hand. It also has a shirt or belt clip to hold it in place when not in use. Actually with the angle of the light you can turn it on and clip it onto your shirt, with the flashlight pointing forward. This is unique in hand held flashlights like this and reminds me of the US military flashlight from old times.

The ThruNite TH30 LED headlamp has a whopping 3,350 lumens!! This is insanely bright for such a small light. Outside at night it lights up the place to about 155 meters. You would think it should be farther but this light also has a very nice, wide range of view. For a head lamp this is awesome. Not only does it cut the dark to 155 meters but it also shows you the area all around in front of you quite clearly. I like how they set this up.

The TH30 is typical of ThruNite flashlights in that it has the same modes. There is the firefly mode with 0.5 lumens which is great for map reading, book reading or survival situations. With the lower brightness this light will not give away your position in a survival scenario while at the same time lighting up your path enough to see through the woods. This flashlight lasts 32 days. This light could be used for months at a time between charges as a nightlight.

There is the low mode with 25 lumens which lasts over 60 hours.

On medium mode the TH30 produces 130 lumens of light and lasts up to 14 hours. This is a pretty good range of brightness for the headlamp and is about the average for most lights on the market today.

But the ThruNite TH30 goes even farther with another level of 352 lumens and lasts 5 hours.

Still brighter is the high mode with 1275 Lumens and it lasts for about 90 minutes at this level. I prefer this one or the one before it.

On turbo mode this light produces an insane 3350 lumens!!!!!

After using this flashlight for quite a while we have both put it through the works. This light has been snowed on, rained on, dropped repeatedly and still works perfectly well.

I would strongly advise anyone to get the ThruNite TH30 headlamp if they want a well built, rugged and reliable flashlight.
