Description:
I skinned my deer today but it was frozen solid from the cold weather and such hard work. Plus my hands kept going numb as I worked.

You may remember that I got a deer but had to run off in a hurry after I brought it in from the field. It froze hard that night outside and the next morning it was quite a job to hang her up in the garage.

Now it is time to skin the deer, which is still frozen solid. It has been well below freezing most of the time I had her up there. You let a deer age a bit before processing the meat in order to tenderize the meat. But this is generally done in temperatures around 32 to 38 degrees F. We have had down into the single digits some nights and days well below freezing for the most part.

As I worked I had to take breaks to let my fingers warm up due to the cold meat. There were ice crystals under the skin.

Eventually though I got the skin down over the head. I will finish processing the meat in the next video so stay tuned....
