Description:
I brought home more fire wood to heat our off grid tiny house this winter and made a sawbuck to cut fire wood to length.

Part of becoming self sufficient is to provide fire wood for our own heat. This is also a major part of living off the grid so the two go hand in hand to some extent.

Cutting your own fire wood is rewarding and saves you money in the end. There are no heating costs all winter, just gas for your chainsaw.

I hauled home two more trailer loads of oak fire wood that I had cut and split the other day. This took me two hours in the heat of the day at 90 degrees F and 50% humidity so it took a toll on me.

I worked on DIY Tube Video Community for the rest of the afternoon until it cooled off some outside.

Later I built a chainsaw sawbuck using scrap boards and two saw horses. I put the saw horses close together and screwed the simple sawbuck to them. A rubber strap holds a log in place while cutting.

I put a log into the sawbuck and then simply cut it. I toss the larger piece into one pile and the cut off ends into another. Shorter pieces will be used to heat my off grid wood shop this winter while the medium pieces will be used for cooking in our antique wood cook stove. The longer pieces will heat our off grid tiny house.

Thanks for watching. Please Subscribe & follow my daily videos as we strive to become fully self sufficient and off the grid on a budget.
