Description:
I can now run a cryptocurrency mining rig on solar power with no problem. And we just got two more cords of fire wood delivered to our homestead.

In the morning the sun was shining brightly so I turned on an altcoin mining rig to use the extra power. The solar battery bank was still in float mode even with the mining rig running. I can also run my laptop, monitor, modem, fridge and small devices as needed on solar power.

The solar power charge controller was pulling up to 1,300 watts as the sun broke through the clouds but the batteries remained in float mode the whole time. I left it running and left the homestead to work.

I spent about two hours cutting oak fire wood for our tiny house heat this winter. I am working for someone on the side to pay for fire wood but I have to cut and split it myself.

After lunch we went to a friend's place to get even more fire wood. They have some pine that they dont want. There is about 3.5 to 4 cords of cut pine logs laying there. We all worked for 4 hours splitting the logs, loading them into a trailer and then hauling the fire wood to our homestead. We unloaded it into a pile and went back for more. It took us an hour per load and we got four loads of fire wood home. Each load is about a half cord of fire wood.

So now we have another two cords of fire wood for our off grid tiny house heating this winter. We plan to use pine during the day and oak at night to heat out tiny house.

Part of being self sufficient is to provide as much of our own needs as possible and this includes heating our home with fire wood.

Our garden is producing food but it freezes here each night so we have to cover the garden every night. In the morning we remove the plastic and start all over again that evening. We have frost on the ground every morning. But this has been protecting the garden plants just fine.
