This is my final field test and review of the Mylivell silicone sports water bottles which we have been using for a few months now.
We have taken these with us everywhere we go from road trips to fishing trips and everything in between. During the past months these have literally gone with us all over the place.
I first did some studies about silicone for water or food use to be sure that there were no health issues with using silicone. We are trying to eliminate anything unhealthy from our diets which means getting rid of plastic containers, aluminum and non stick items.
I looked into food grade silicone and I cannot find anything bad about its use for food and water. They say it is inert and does not leach anything into our food even at high temperatures. So I figured that silicone water bottles should be fine.
But the big test was to fill a water bottle and leave it in the car for two weeks. With a plastic sports water bottle, even BPA free, their is almost always a bad plastic taste after a day or two in the heat of a car. But when I tried the water after a couple weeks in the silicone sports water bottle there was surprisingly no taste at all.
We have been using these on the boat fishing out in the hot sun also with no problems.
These collapsible silicone sports water bottles are very light and take up little space when traveling. This makes them perfect for our Bug Out Bags. Two of them permanently stay in our grab and go Every Day Carry bag while the other two go into Melanie and my main Bug Out Bags. When we are not using them, they go back into the BOBs to stay.
Since we use the gear in our Bug Out Bags all the time, it is no problem for us to grab something we need and put them back when done.
These are also sort of fun to use since they are squishy.
