Description:
I finished converting my solar power system to 24 volts for more efficiency.

Get the 24 volt to 120 volt inverter here: https://amzn.to/2wqsD0o

Get the 24 to 12 volt DC DC converter here: https://amzn.to/2C1YGZJ

Get the 12/24 volt cigarette lighter volt meter here: https://amzn.to/2CdaXuH

In the previous video I started the project after receiving the above packages in the mail. But it started to rain so I had to quickly put things away and cover the electronics with a tarp. Then I waited all day. At 4 pm it finally stopped raining and I was able to continue working.

I wired up the batteries into two sets of 24 volt battery banks. Then I wired them together in parallel.

Next I removed the power inverter and both MPPT solar charge controllers. I moved the Tristar charge controller over to the other side so I could use the thicker wires going to the batteries.

I got solar power going back into the battery banks again.

I wired up the new pure sine wave power inverter and got it going as well. This I had grounded properly into the earth to prevent shocks. This power inverter requires a ground.

Inside the off grid tiny house I ran the wires from the 24 volt battery bank to the inside of the house. Then I wired in the 24 volt to 12 volt DC DC converter. This now converts the 24 volts from the batteries to 12 volts for my small devices and USB charging ports.

And finally I plugged my new 12/24 volt cigarette lighter volt meter into the socket to measure the output of the converter. This volt meter also has a built in digital thermometer which I thought was cool.

Now our entire solar power system is wired for 24 volts which makes it more efficient. Also since the solar panels are rated for 24 volts they match the battery bank, making everything more efficient.
