Description:
I have been cutting fire wood nearly every day now in order to get ready for this winter.

We heat our off grid tiny house exclusively with a wood stove so I want to get about six cords of fire wood put away before the snow flies this year.

I have a lot more fire wood out in the forest that I cut which I am still hauling in. I am stacking the smaller stuff out front by the off grid tiny house and the larger logs go out back to be split later. We have a neighbor who will bring over a log splitter when we get a larger stack ready.

I want to have a mix of hard and soft wood for this year's heating. There is a lot of dead standing pine out in the forest that we own and this is ready to burn after just drying out a bit. We burn pine in the day and prefer oak at night.

The pine has to be burnt hotter so its best to use it during the day when we are home so we can feed the fire more often. The oak burns slower and longer so its good for night use.
