How to repair a fan or other electric motor that has slowed down, squeals or does not turn anymore due to dirt and lack of lubrication. This is a simple repair that anyone with a few tools can do at home. Most of you have had a fan that squeals horribly when you turn it on. Or it sticks and just will not turn fast enough anymore. Sometimes it will not spin up at all or it needs a push to get it going. The reason for this is that the lubrication on the bushings of the motor shaft are dried out and dirty. Over the years dust, dirt and tiny metal particles will stick to the bushings as the oil dries out. Eventually the motor will not work right anymore. You can prevent this with a working motor by lubricating the bushings regularly. This will greatly extend the life of your fan or electric motor. But when you do get an older electric motor powered device such as my rock tumbler here, you have to take it apart to bring new life back to it.I show you how simple it is to clean and restore your motor to provide many more years of use. Thanks for watching.

But when you do get an older electric motor powered device such as my rock tumbler here, you have to take it apart to bring new life back to it.

I show you how simple it is to clean and restore your motor to provide many more years of use.
