I finished framing in our homestead entrance gates and then put the pickets on the gates and a part of the fence. Now you cant even tell where the gates are from outside.Once I pulled down the chain link fence I had to push myself and finish the gates and that section of fence for security.I put a board across the tops of two of the posts to keep them from sagging. The fence will help prevent side to side sagging on one end.I had to frame in part of the picket fence where we still had chain link fence and then I started to put on the pickets.Once I had the gates covered in upright pickets, you could not tell where the gates were at all from the outside.I still have to put some 12 ft upright posts in next to the gate support posts to strengthen them and connect a board across the tops of them as well to prevent sagging with time. But for a day of work, it really feels good to sit back and look at what I accomplished. Thanks for watching. Description:
I finished framing in our homestead entrance gates and then put the pickets on the gates and a part of the fence. Now you cant even tell where the gates are from outside.

Once I pulled down the chain link fence I had to push myself and finish the gates and that section of fence for security.

I put a board across the tops of two of the posts to keep them from sagging. The fence will help prevent side to side sagging on one end.

I had to frame in part of the picket fence where we still had chain link fence and then I started to put on the pickets.

Once I had the gates covered in upright pickets, you could not tell where the gates were at all from the outside.

I still have to put some 12 ft upright posts in next to the gate support posts to strengthen them and connect a board across the tops of them as well to prevent sagging with time.

But for a day of work, it really feels good to sit back and look at what I accomplished.
