Our organic homestead garden is starting to provide us with even more food than ever before. This year I let Melanie take over the gardening and she used some of our own homestead compost along with mulch in the raised garden beds. Her plants are doing better than anything we ever had before. Even her broccoli is growing this year. We have cabbage that is looking good as well. These are things we never grew with success. We are getting a lot of leafy greens and squash these days. The cucumbers are going to make it as well soon. But we cannot grow tomatoes, peas, beans and peppers. I think that it is because the nights are quite cold here and the days are very hot. We have sandy soil and I think our conditions are like in the desert to some extent. It gets hotter here in the day and colder at night than in other areas around us.But we are experimenting and learning what grows here best and trying to find ways to grow the common staple crops as well.I am going to write a blog post on Patreon before each video I upload. Description:

It gets hotter here in the day and colder at night than in other areas around us.

But we are experimenting and learning what grows here best and trying to find ways to grow the common staple crops as well.
