BioLite sent me one of their brand new products to try out - the PowerLight Mini LED lantern. This is a super slim, ultra light and mega bright LED lantern.

When I opened the package I was impressed to find a bicycle mount for the light included. Plus a cloth braided USB charging cable.
After charging up the PowerLight Mini, I gave it a try out in my off grid tiny house on wheels. I used it as the only source of light for the evening while I worked on videos at my table.
The LED lantern lasted about 4 and a half hours before the light went into dim mode rather than going full out. This is an amazing feature I love so much!! Most LED lights will just go right out on you which can be downright deadly depending on what you are doing at the time. The PowerLight Mini gives me another 15 minutes of light before it shuts down. The charge indicator light on the side blinks to warn you that the battery is discharged.
The PowerLight Mini has multiple modes of operation. It has a normal light mode which lights up my tiny house well enough to read a book by on the other end of the house. It has a bright light mode which is super bright. It has a red light mode which I also love for stealth and emergency lighting. It has a red flashing mode and a white flashing mode for emergencies.
Another nice feature of the PowerLight Mini is the 1350 mAh Li-on battery pack and USB output. This lantern doubles as an emergency battery pack to charge up your cell phone or other small electronic devices.
The wire clip is also multi purpose. It can be used as a stand to set the lamp upright. You can use it as a hanger and use it like a lantern. Or you can clip it onto your shirt pocket for hands free operation.
Weighing only 2.8 ounces and measuring just 3 x 2 x .6 inches it is awesome for ultralight backpacking or survival. It weighs very little for a lantern and hardly takes up any space at all.
This little light is brighter than most lanterns I have seen including most propane or gas powered lanterns. It blows away most LED lanterns and lights I have had in my hands and I have tried a lot of them through the years.
Do not be deceived by its rating of 135 Lumens because this light is very bright.
This is an amazing light that I will carry with me from now on in my EDC bag and on survival outings. Plus back home I am using it heavily as a reading lamp in my off grid tiny house on wheels.
I would highly recommend this lamp for anyone who wants a serious LED lantern.
