Every day we haul a load of wood back to our off grid homestead. Some of the logs I keep to run on the sawmill and some I cut up for fire wood.I am turning my garage into a wood shop. But when I got one wall cleared up and went to insulate it, I found a problem. The bottom plate has rotted out due to water splashing up on to the wood through the years.I plan to put rain gutters outside to stop most of the water from splashing down. But I am trying to figure out how best to prevent rot in the future in this area.I am open to suggestions. Thanks for watching.
