Before we left for vacation we had to prepare our homestead and animals to survive on their own while we were gone. We have chickens, guineas, cats, turkeys and a dog. We also have plants and vegetables.Everything had to be able to survive without us for up to 6 days.We got the biggest chicken drinkers and feeders they had at TSC for the young birds. We used two 3.5 gallon drinkers and another 1.25 gallon. We got large feeders for the small birds as well.We fenced in the small birds and secured them against predators. The larger chickens are free ranging in summer months. We put about 10 gallons of water out for them. Our cats got extra water and food and litter boxes for the time we would be away. And our dog got an 18 lb automatic feeder and an automatic watering dish. Thanks for watching.
