How to get your home off the grid video series. This is the third video in the series on how to get your own home off the grid on a budget.

Part of getting off the grid is to reduce your energy needs. The next few videos will be dealing with how to reduce your energy needs and get into the habit of saving energy on a daily basis in order to prepare you for getting your home off the grid.

For many homes, part of our daily routine is a nice cup of coffee in the morning. Most of us are used to turning on a coffee maker of some kind and coming back later for a nice, hot cup of coffee.

But when you are living off the grid you want to cut your energy needs as much as possible. Using a coffee maker which burns 1,500 watts is not possible for most off grid homes.

So I present to you this awesome little one cup coffee maker which uses no energy at all.

The only thing you need to do is to heat up water in some way. We will cover the various ways to heat water off the grid in future videos.

But for now lets just cover this off grid coffee maker.

This acts just like your coffee machine that you are used to. You put the coffee grounds into the filter and pour hot water over the grounds. The brewed coffee comes out the bottom into your coffee cup.

This gives you the full flavor of a brewed cup of coffee without the wasted energy of a coffee machine.

And you will save money and reduce waste in the long run because you will never need another disposable coffee filter again.

We have been using my single cup coffee brewer for many years now with the same reusable filter. Mine has finally worn out but it was cheap anyway.

This all stainless steel model will last you many many years if properly cared for and not banged around.

You can get the stainless steel single cup coffee maker here: https://amzn.to/2HLWPdP

You can get the Vietnamese coffee brewer here: https://amzn.to/2I2GjoM

I strongly recommend you get one of these if you are planning to take your home off the grid. You wont regret it.

I purchased these with my own money. I am not affiliated with the companies at all. I receive no compensation for this video.

If you purchase the products through the links I provide, I get a small commission from Amazon. Every little bit helps. Thank you.
