Join us and follow along as we strive to become fully self sufficient and off the grid on our 18 acre homestead in the woods. My wife Melanie, our daughter Michelle, and I moved in the spring of 2017 to our new homestead in Northern lower Michigan.
We are surrounded by wild State forest land teaming with wildlife. For many, this is vacation paradise. For us, this is home. There are very few full time people around, which ads to the wildness and the beauty of the area. This also leaves us pretty much alone in the quiet and peaceful forest.
We are raising chickens for meat, eggs and for some extra money to help pay the bills. We grow our own food to help offset the cost of groceries. We hunt and fish for meat as needed and to stock up for the harsh winter months.
We hope to become more and more independent of the grocery stores with time and eventually become fully self sufficient.
We are putting up solar panels and battery backup systems to power our meager needs in our off grid tiny house. We use primarily wood heat to keep us warm in the cold winter months.

My PlayHouse is all about High end Enterprise Server and Storage equipment. I run quit a bit of a data center in my House, with a hundred plus servers, on and offline. I like sharing the hardware and what I know about it.
I am a big fan of Lenovo / IBM servers, and so those are often a big part.
My PlayHouse started with me working on my old house. I do not do that as much anymore, but sometimes I still do.

I am 28 years old. I am a redseal carpenter. I currently install commerical drywall for a full time job. I have a residential company doing work from remodels to custom woodworking I love what I do. I am an avid outdoors person. I like hunting and trapping, and just being outdoors. Just recently this year I have gotten into electronics and gardening.
For my woodworking and residential is what I currently work on mostly now. All of my woodworking that I currently make is not by plans or measurements from something on the internet. I look at a picture and make it from what I see. If there is something that you would like to see made or if there is something that you would like to get measurements for and you can't find the plans I would love to try and help you out. You can just give me a message through my email.
If you like my videos please subscribe and leave a comment. If there is something you would like to see that I haven't posted about in a while you can give me a message and I will gladly try and do so.
