For the past week pretty much all I have been doing is hauling fire wood home to the off grid homestead.
I have been working off the property part time and hauling wood part time. I work a bit to help pay the bills part time.
But when I am not working I am cutting logs and hauling them home to split and make fire wood to heat our off grid tiny house.
I got a chance to haul home about 20 full cords worth of logs and fire wood. But I have to cut the logs and haul them home. Then I have to split them on the log splitter. And then later before dark I haul the split fire wood over to the wood pile closer to the tiny house.
I am working in the middle of the yard so I can more easily drop off the wood. I drive in with the trailer, empty it and drive right off again. Out in the yard there is also full sun and wind which helps dry the split fire wood faster while it sits there waiting to be stacked. I figure every little bit helps.
I am also bringing home some nice logs to cut into lumber on the chainsaw lumber mill. I am hoping to make our own lumber for projects here on the homestead using our own mill. So any good logs I bring home in one piece.
