I finally got a chance to work outside on the homestead. It has been freezing and raining on and off for weeks now. Today it had stopped raining earlier so when I got home I got out the mower and mowed the lawn.
It was a bit wet and slow going but I ran the mower till it ran out of gas. The grass was over my knees in places so it was hard work.
I also mowed the garden because it needed it badly. The grass and weeds love this cold and wet weather so it took over.
Then Melanie and I moved the greenhouse frame to the end of the garden so it is easier to work in. We plan to use raised grow beds in the greenhouse from now on due to the constant frost we are getting this year. This will reduce the amount of work we have to do each night and morning covering and uncovering the plants.
We just dont have time anymore in the morning before work to be pulling covers off all the gardens like we did when we worked on the homestead full time.
Melanie is planting some flowers in raised grow beds for now as well.
